The Xanadu was a small dive charter boat which struck the northern end of Woodhouse Reef with a group of fisherman and local officials onboard. The dive compressor and dive tanks had previously been removed from the boat prior to this trip, as had approximately 1 ton of plastic granules salvaged from the wreck of the Hamada which had been stored in the boat’s bow. Oddly enough, these plastic granules had saved the Xanadu on previous trip when she had run aground at Sha’ab Ali. The Xanadu now lies in approximately 40-meters of water at the northern end of Woodhouse Reef in the Straits of Tiran.
